SOWING OF SPORTS GROUND OVAL
The recently formed Sports Ground Oval was inspected on Saturday morning last by Mr C. B. D. Taylor, Fields Instructor, Department of Agriculture, Rotorua, in company with the Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, Crs K. E. Young, J. E. Barton, .T • M. Stanley and C. S. Currie, and the Town Clerk, Mr S. Torepe.
Mr Taylor expressed his pleasure at the way the ground had consolidated, and advised that sowing of grass seed should be done toward'the end of this month or early in September, subject to cessation of heavy frostsMr Taylor's advisory services had been recommended to the Council some time ago by Sir Bruce Levy, of Massey College, the eminent pasture authority. Mr Taylor has made earlier inspeetions of the ground. Seed will he sown bv means of the Taupo Golf Club's clistributor, which the club has kindly offered to lend to the Council, together with other equipment which may he of use.
