BASKETBALL NOTES
Mangakino brought an A and B team to Taupo to play Taupo A and B on Saturday last. Tlie visitors were victorious by 23 to 10 in tlie A matcli, and 27 to 18 in tlie B matcli. Tlie games were played in wet and unpleasant conditions. Mangakino lieldeu two exceptionally strong teams. At tlie conclusion oi tlie oiiicial matclies tlie teams clianged opponents for friendly matclies in whicli both B teams turned tlie tables on tlieir opponents. Tlie Taupo B team played an excellent garne in tlieir matcli. This team is being coaclied by Mrs Rewa, oi Taupo, and Mrs Waihape, oi Tauranga-Taupo, for tlie Rotorua B grade tournament on September 2 and 3. Owing to tlie absence oi tlie A team in Christchurch this week-end, and oi tlie B team in Rotorua tlie following week-end tliere will be no local play until Saturday, September 10.
