BAUMBERG CUP RUGBY

In the final of the Junior Knockout Competition for the Baumberg Cup on Sunday last Coilege Old Boys defeated Maroa 14 — 3. Old Boys attacked from the kick-off and came within five yards of-the line, but Maroa managed to push them back. After five minutes, Tipu broke through with B. Wall in support, the latter diving on the ball for Old Boys first try. A second try to Old Boys came when Wineera gathered in an raced through Maroa's defence to v the twenty-five, passed inside to B. Wall who dummied past three men to score under the posts. Old Boys 6, Maroa 0. At this stage Wall was hurt and had to leave the field for some five minutes. Northcroft was next over the line, Wineera converting to make the score 11-nil, which became 11 — 3 shortly after when Hamilton kicked a penalty goal for Maroa. Half-time found Maroa on the attack with the score, unchanged, and though in the second half Maroa had the better of the game they were unable to break Old Boys' defence. During the last few minutes C.O.B. were attacking again and B, Wall secured his third try, making the final figures 14—3.
