Reps Win At Rotorua
The Taupo representative basketball team was successful once again in the Hargraves Ohallenge Cup competition in Rotorua on Saturday. The team played six games and won the teamwork and combination were evi- ; dent. There was no doubt about the outstanding player of the day. Combining well with H. Morehu and E. Darliington, P. Maniapoto impressec with her accurate shooting. , K. O. Lewis Cup Nine teams are competing for the fc. O. Lewis Cup this season. The jpresent holders are Taupo High School, whose only defeat has been at the hands of the indomitable College Old Girls team. Some good hard games are likely in the second rount which commences to-morrow. The following games must be played ofit before the points in the first rouhc lare finaiiSed: Stuarts v. Tokaanu Women, and Spa v. Tokaanu High School. . So far the points are: C.O.G., 24; Taupo H.S., 21; Huka, 15; Mokai, 12; Waipahihi, 3. Games for to-morrow are : Taupo k.S. v. Huka, 11-30, referee N. Bates ; O.O.G. v. Stuarts. 12.15, 9. 1 Georgo; Toknnnu Women v. Wnlpnhihi, 1.0, M. Jones; Mokai v. Tokaanu M.S., 1.45, C. Waihape: Stuarts v. Tokaanu Women, 2.30, S. Hay; Tokaanu H.S. v. Spa, 3-15, N. Bates. B "Reps" Selected The following players have been selected in the B representatives to play at Taumarunui on Saturday, August 13 : Forwards: Alison Wall (Stuarts), Margaret Fulljames (.Stuarts), Sally Rameka (Taupo H.S.), Snowdrop Wall (Spa). Centres : Fvelyn Banks (Tokaanu Women), Maadi Hough (Mokai), Mihi Tupara (Spa), Rana Baggs (Taupo H.S.). Defence: Judy Graham (Mokai), Jan Watford (Taupo H.S.), Sylvia Booth (Taupo H.S.), Margaret Rawhiti (Tokaanu Women). Miss T. Elkington will act as coach.
