Land Next Motor Camp In April the Council wrote to the Hon. E. H. Halstead, Minister in Charge of Tourist Resorts, in connection with their request that the Ministry of Works should assist in levelling spoil deposited on land between the Control Gates Dam and the Municipal Motor Camp, the spoil having been spread on this domain area during construction of the Dam. Replying, the Minister stated he was in agreement with the Minister of Works, and said it was not the policy of the Government to develop land in cases such as this, and that the improvements desired should be arranged by the Council. Councillors pointed out that the Minister appeared to be misinformed. It was decided to ask the Minister to visit .Taupo at some later date when the piatter could be explained to/him.
