NEED FOR HEATING IN WAR MEMORIAL HALL
The need for some form of heating in the War Memorial Hall was raised at the Borough "Couneil meeting last week by Cr C- S. Currie. With the wintry weather now prevailing the coldness of the Hall was affectiug attendances at funetions held there, such as plays and concerts. Or J. D. Swan gave partieulars of a modern type of space heating stove he had seen in use in Rotorua. It used diesel fuel and appeared to be .very efiicient, and cost about £50. The warehouse in which it was ysed was about 40 feet by 80. Cr Currie said something was wanted now. The cost of heating by electricity would not cost the Couneil mu-ch other than the costs of the installation. If a report were to be got it should ge got immediately. O11 the motion of Cr Swan it was decided to refer the matter to the Hlectrical Inspector for a t report as to costs of installation and a comparison of different methods of heating.
