Truth at Last?

In the interests of honesty but against all his inclinations, the Rev. Ivor Powell, visiting envangelist, known as "the Man from Wales," recently made an admission which will gladden the hearts of New Zealanders. He prefaced an address to the Invercargill Rotary Club with a humorous reference to the persistence of New Zealanders in asking his opinion about the famous match in which Wales inflicted the only defeat on the famous All Blacks of 1905. He was always being asked, he said, whether Deans had in reality scored a try which would have given New Zealand victory had it been awarded: "I was not there," Mr Powell said, "but my father was, and he told me Deans was robbed. I am very glad he was robbed, but he shouldn't have been."
