C.W.I. MEETING
New members were welcomed; and birthday sprays presented at the monthly meeting of tlie Taupo> rountrywomen's Institute lield iin Rlcki't's Hall on Wednesday.;. June 15: Visitors were Mrs Peihopa,. of Te Rimu, and Mrs Bangma, a Dutch lady, now resident in Taupo*,, who i formerly lived in Indonesia. Mrs ; Bangma gave a\ most interestihg talik on Indonesia, and exhibited" examples of very beautfful carvings,. silver work and otlieir articles mad"e there. Winners im the monthte competitions were:: Decorated platev Mrs Davis and' Mrs Gumbtey,. equal ; sandwighes,. Mrs. Gunnbley ; best bloom, Mrs: Gumbley ; el'uster, Mrs Potter ; vegetables, Mrs: Murphy. The rol'I call, 4'Uses of eggs," brought forth some very good ideas as well' as some good l'aughs. Mrs K. Johnsoa gave the golden thought. A very successful bring^and-buy in aid of institute funds was held on June 17..
