, In the junior ten-a-side tournament held on Saturday last Maroa defeated Taupo District High School, and College Old Boys defeated United. In the play-off Old Boys defeated Maroa 17— -3. The Town v. Country match on the Queen's Birthday resulted in a win for Country by nine points to three. Town attacked during the first 10 minutes, J. Rameka scoring a try^ which was not converted, and Town maintained their three-nil lead until half-time. After resumption Country's extra weight began to tell, and Tipu, picking up a rolling ball, ran 40 yards to score between the posts and equalise the scores. The kick failed. A second try by Tipu gave Country a three-point lead, and later Tipu kicked a penalty goal to make the final score 9 — 3.
