GOLF NOTES
The Taupo Golf Club's new nine holes have been closed to allow the grass to pick up again after the drought conditions experienced during the summer months. A medal round was played on Saturday, May 21, and scoring on the original course was considerably lower than it has been in previous rounds over the full 18 holes. Leadlng scores were: — F. D. Stretton/ 82-17-65; G. Thomas, 84-16-68; E. J. Ryan, 80-12-68; G. Potts, 94-24-70; G. Sutherland, 90-20-70.
