Mr E. C. Goldstone
The death of Mr. Ernest Charles Goldstone, of St. Heliers Bay, Auckland, occurred at a private hospital in Auckland on Monday, May 2. A well-known and respected Auckland businessman, Mr. Goldstone had been a regular and frequent visitor to Taupo for the past 15 years, where he and Mrs. Goldstone were keenly interested in the garden of their holiday home. When the Taupo Horticultural and Beautifying Society was formed 1 Mr. and Mrs. Goldstone were among its first members and always took a keen interest in its activities, visiting Taupo for the society's fiower shows and showing in them. A wide circle of Taupo friends will extend their sympathy to Mrs. Goldstonc and family in their bereavement and will fccl the loss of one whom his Taupo friends aiways regarded as bcing keenly " Taupo conscious." The funeral took place on Wednesday, May 4, at Purewa Lawn Cemetery, Auckland, following a service at St. Phillip's Church, St. Heliers.
