OBITUARY
Henry Te Karere Rickit ; L '1 The death of Mr Henry Te Kara Rickit occurred at Taupo on Wedsa day, April 20. Mr Rickit, who wasl his 69th year, was the second sonl the late Mr and Mrs Joseph Rka of Taupo. He had been in indiffera health for some time. Throughl mother he was descended from 1 Ngahue Tawhanga, a chief of I Tuhourangi Tribe, of Lake Tarawn and as a young man spent a nuiri of years at Te Wairoa, on the skj of the Lake. Mr Rickit married Miss EiJ Waretini, sister of the well-1™ Maori singer Mr Dean Waretini, ffl died in 1926. One son, Mr *1 Rickit, . was killed in action infl Second World War. He is sun® i by a daughter, Mrs Mary MilneJ Tokomaru Bay, and four sons, MaJ Pembroke Rickit, of Parnell; BlS Rickit, of Taupo; Arthur Rickit® Taneatua; and Neil Rickit, of T&fi The funeral took place on Fh afternoon last, from St. AndfS Church, Taupo, there being a A gathering of friends and relativq| the Church and graveside. A22B other visitors were Mrs Rangil® nan (Guide Rangitiria), andjH Kepa Ehau, of Rotorua.
