MAORI WOMEN'S WELFARE LEAGUE
Tongariro District Council The Tongariro District Council oi: the Maori Womeifs Welfare Deague met at National Park recently, Mrs Paurini presiding, when officers and committee were elected, and Dominion Oonference delegates appointed.
* The three branches under the Tongariro District Council, nainely, Waimarino, Papakai and Taurewa, were fully represented. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs N- H. Te Moana; Vice-president, Mrs llenry; Secre-tary-Treasurer, Mrs L. Turanga : Committee, Mesdames Paurini, N Komene, Lenard, M. Hepi, M. Ruhe, T. Toma. Oonference delegates, Mesdames Te Moana, Paurini; obsevvers, Mesdames Lenard, Kereopa, Turanga, Hepi and two substitutes. Spray s were prcsented by Mrs Stevens to Mesdames Paurini, Ilepi, Turanga and rP* M'»a:.a. II"toSSes • Waimarino brancii. Apoiogieb were received from Mesdames I.I ay ward and Morris, of ihe Waimarino brancii.
