BADMINTON IN HALL
The l.oroiigli .Council, at its meeting on February 16. discussed the playing of liadminton and indoor bowls in ihe War Memorial Ilall, ihe matter being brough! up by Cr. J. DSwan, ehairnian of ihe Hall Comliriftee. Cr. W. (1. Morris said it had been suggested by tlie recent deputation fi'om the sports bodies that a trial game 1 >e arranged to be witiK^ssod hy ihe Council and tlie Sports Coniniirtee. Cr. Young said lie would like to see. ;i trial game. II e did not like tlio idea of paiiuing the hall lioor, wliicli would spoil ihe gaaieral appearance. Cr. l.kirton said he did not ' like the idea either. Cr. Morris thouglit the marklngs could be done in white-wash. That had to be done on grass eourts. Cr. Swan said 'it was eontemplated that it would be possible to hold indoor bowling on the same nights as hadminton. those concerned sharing the charge for the - hall. On the ruot n of Cr.
