COMMUNITY ARTS SERVICE

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING There was an attendance of som forty members at the annual meet ing of the Taupo Branch of th Community Arts Service, held ii Rickit's Hall on Tuesday evening November 23. The retiring presi dent, Mr E. F. Wright, was in th chair. Mr Wright reviewed the year', activities, and the treasurer's re port revealed that the Branch ha( a credit balance in its account though there had been a small los: on the past season's presentations The following officers and committee were elected: — President Mr E. S. West; Secretary-treasurer Mrs M. Buckleigh; Committee, Mesdames F. Bostock, N. A. Duthie, A C. L. Fooks, W. H. Kent, H. J^ Peacocke, T. G. Price, D. A. Richards G. D. W. Sutherland, W. H. Thomas L. G. Webley, Messrs J. W. Birnie G. Foote, C. Leslie, T. G. Price: Hon. Auditor. Mr N. A. Duthie. The incoming President, Mr E. S West, thanked financial memben for their support, and also those who had assisted by billettin^ members of the visiting casts during the year. It was decided that subscriptior rates for the ensuing year shoulc be 12/6 for family membership, including parents and children, oi 5/- for personal membership. Following conclusion of business Miss Armstrong played two pianc pieces, "April" by Harvey Lohr and "Impromptu" by Schubert. Mr C. R. Leslie produced the recorded play "The Ghost Train." The gathering concluded with supper, provided by the Ladies Committee.
