LOCAL PLAYERS STAGING HOLIDAY COMEDY
CITIZENS COMMITTEE PLAY ON JANUARY 10 AND 11 Although the Taupo Dramatic Society has regretfully decided against mounting a play during the Christmas-New Year Holidays this year, 011 account of Queen Carnival activities, the Citizens' Queen Committee plan to stage a farcial comedy in the War Memorial Hall, namely Roger Macdougall's "To Dorothy A Son," probably on January 10 and 11. Rehearsals are under way and the production should provide first class holiday entertainment. Foliowing its original opening at the Savoy Theatre, London, in 1950 the play ran for 513 performances, a fact that speaks eloquently of its audience appeal.
