BUILDING PERMITS FOR TOTAL OF £28,005
In a report to the Borough Council, at its meeting on Wednesday, November 17, the Building Inspector, Mr G. M. Crickett, reported that twenty-three sets of plans and specifications had been examined and approved for building permits to an estimated value of £28,005. The following details provide some indication of the type of buildings being erected and the areas in which development is taking place: — Three residences, Golf Links Rd., £2300, £850 and £950 respectively; Waitahanui Avenue, holiday accommodation, £1100; Hatepe Avenue, residence, £950; Tamamutu Street, residence, £2500; Acacia Bay, residence, £2000; Hawai Street residence £1400; Tongariro Street, shop and office additions, £3500; Wheretia Street, residence, £3000; Laughton Street, residence, £2225; Paora Hape Street, shop, £1200; William Street, residence, £3200 ^ Nukuhau Street, holiday accommodation, £1600. In addition, four garages totalled £450, two sheds £260, and three additions £520.
