BOWLING SEASON OPENS

The Taupo Bowling Club opened its new season oni Sunday last, October 25, when there were present, in addition to a good muster of Club members, a number of visitors from other centres. Teams were present from Putaruru, Tokoroa and Arawa (Rotorua). Mr E. T. Smith, Club President, declared the season open at 1.30 Ip.m., and paid a tribute to members who had taken part in working bees organised to build additions to the Club House and to carry out work on the green. The jack was put up by Mrs E. T. Smith, wife of the President, and Mr B. M. Armstrong, Immediate Past President, bowled the first bowl. Mr Finch, of the Waikato Subcentre, on behalf of the Sub-centre President, extended good wishes to the local Club for a good season.
