GOLF CLUB NOTES

A ladies' Stableford bogey match was played on Thursday, September 23, and was won by Mrs Colbeck with 32 points. Mrs Logan and Mrs Watson tied for second place with 29. „ The president and captain had their annual teams match on Saturday, September 25, a mixed fourball bogey played on handicap. There were several hard fought battles, the president and his partner leading their team to victory with four wins to two, and one match drawn. A team of 12 men and 16 ladies travelled to Putaruru on Sunday, September 26, to play the second half of the Ewart Shield match. In the first half played in Taupo in May Taupo led by 16 points to 9, but on Sunday Putaruru proved the stronger and retained the Shield. Tomorrow, Saturday, a teams match will be played, the Ladies' Club challenging the Men's Club. Play will start at 1.30 p.m.
