SCALE OF CHARGES At the meeting of the Taupo Borough , Council held on Wednesday, September 15, a discussion took place on recommedations made to the Council by its Hall Committee, consisting of Crs J. D. Swan, chairman, K. O. Lewis, W. G. Morris and J. M. Stanley, in connection with the future administration of the War Memorial Hall. It was decided that the roorns provided for the Returned Services Association should be let to the Association at a peppercorn rental of £1 per month, the Association not to sublet, and the Council to have the right to use the rooms if the Association did not make full use of them. With regard to the! charges to be made for the use of the Hall, it was decided that for local organisations the charge for the Hall should be £8 per night or part thereof, and for the Supper Room £2/10/- per night. Every hour after midnight to be charged £1 extra. For outside organisations the charge for the Hall to be £15, and for the Supper Room £3. The charge for use of the stage only to be £2/10/- per night. 1 It was decided that no bookings be made for more than three months in advance except for dramatic entertainments and visiting artists. All bookings to be aecompanied by at least one night's rent as deposit. It was also decided that under no circumstances were nails or any decorations to be put into or at- j tached to walls, ceilings or to any part of the hall except the stage. Stage decorations to be done only under the supervision of the Hall Committee. Notices to be prepared and erected in suitable places in the Hall prohibiting smoking and the taking or consumption of liquor on the premises. The Council also decided to procure for the Hall 250 seats of the "Fold-a-by" type, together with 24 forms six feet in length.
