CLIFF SCENERY LAKE TAUPO

One of the attractions of the western shores of the Lake is the scenery along many miles of shoreline. Deep water is found at the foot of towering cliffs, and the varied vegetation growing luxuriantly, often apparently in crevices devoid of any soil, is the source pf unfailing interest to holiday-makers on fishing or sight-seeing trips by launch. The tree-fern in the above photograph illustrates the remarkable way in which plant-life has been established in seemingly unfavourabie situations.
