MAURI WOMEN'S HEALTH LEAGUE CONFERENCE
THREE DAY GATHERING AT NUKUHAU A three-day conference of the Maori Women's Health League (Inc.) will be held at the Te Rangiita Marae, Nukuhau, Taupo, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday next, August 26-28. Thursday will be the day of assembly, and on Friday the Conference will deal with matters relating to the welfare of the Maori people. On the Saturday there will be haka and action song competitions for school children from many districts, some teams coming from as far as Gisborne and the East Coast. The League will also celebrate its 17th Birthday, this function being held yearly at the various maraes where the League has branches. In 1944 the Conference and Birthday celebration were held at Waipahihi, Taupo.
