PERSONAL

Canon A. R. H. Morris, M.A., formerly Vicar of Wairoa, H.B., was inducted as vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne, on Thursday evening, July 1, by the Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. N. A. Lesser. Canon Morris was Anglican priest-in-charge at Taupo in 1930, and was later vicar of Te Karaka, and of Waipora Bay, and served overseas as a chaplain with the New Zealand forces in the Second World War. Older residents of Taupo reeall how, when the section on which St. Andrew's Church was later built was given as a church site by the Rickit family, in memory of the late Mr Joseph Rickit, the Rev. "Bob" Morris got to work with a slasher and cleared it.
