"LET'S MAKE A BALLET"
* NEXT WEK'S C.A.S. SHOW Poul Gnatt and his N.Z. Ballet Company, to be presehted at Rickit's Hall, Taupo, at 8 p.m. next Tuesday, July 20, have received excellent receptions wherever they have appeared on their present tour. In a critique of a recent performance the King Country Chronicle stated that the Company had the biggest audience and most enthusiastic reception ever to be accorded a C.A.S. presentation in the King Country. The virtually capacity house was enraptured by the fine and varied programme, its beautiful costuming and above all the fine calibre of the dancing. At the close of the performance the company received curtain call after curtain call, while every item brought forth prolonged peals of applause. The pianiste with the Ballet Company, Dorothea Franchi, whfn returned to New Zealand in 1953, has had several works published, one of which was performed in St. Paul's Cathedral, and another by the London Symphony Orchestra in 1951.
