NEARLY 800 CONSUMERS 1 • In his monthly report to the Borough Council, on May 19, Mr J. M. Sherwood, Electrical Inspector, reported that the total number of consumers was now 792, forty-nine having been connected during the past month. The high tension line to Wairakei and Huka Lodge had ben livened up on April 27. Low tension distribution lines at Waitahanui had been completed, and also at the Two Mile area, where service lines were now being run. Further low tension work had been completed at Tuck Bros, factory, Taupo View Road extension, and Wharf Road. Service lines had been erected in various parts of the borough as new applications for supply were received.
