The course was very popular during the week-end and there was a good entry for the Fourball Stableford on the Saturday, won by E. Pearse and D. Stretton with 42 points. Scoring on the whole was excellent and three pairs returned 39 points for second place. Despite very wet conditions on Sunday there were 16 entries for the Mixed Foursome Bogey. Though the weather deteriorated as the afternoon progressed more than half the players completed the round. Winners were Mrs Irvine and M. Brittain three down on bogey, with Mrs Young and M. Waddell 6 down, and Mr and Mrs Moss 7 down. The warm wet weather has been ideal for the newly sown fairways and the grass is coming away well indeed.
