MAGISTRATE COMMENDS FISHERY RANGER

Following the hearing in the Magistrate's Court, Taupo, on Friday, March 26, of charges against three men of spearing fish in the Tokaanu Stream, the Magistrate, Mr W. A. Harlow, referred to Mr P. J. Burstall, a ranger for the Internal .Affairs Department, whd had observed the poachers and succeeded in catching them under somewhat difficult circumstances, after forcing his way through swamp and brambles and fording the stream. Later Mr Burstall's enquiries enabled him to secure the correct names of two men whose names he could not get at the time.
