TAUPO v. "BOOT HILL"
On. Saturday February 27 a team from the Taupo suburb of "Boot Hill" took the field against Taupo They found the bowling of Jack Smith, Forster and Mclsaac too much for them and in spite of a rapid 29 by Bruce Kildey they were dismissed for a total of 44 runs. Jack Smith with 5 wickets for 10 runs finished with the best figures. The Taupo innings opened with a partnership of 63 between Forster and Hoggard for the first wicket. After Hoggard and Sherwood had fallen to Kildey in one over Mclsaac joined Forster and this pair took the total tol44 by lunch time. At this point both batsmen retired and with Bogue and Neame both reaching the twenties the Taupo innings was eventually closed with 8 wickets down for 213.
Bowling: — Forster 2 wickets for 26, J. Smith 5 for 10, Mclsaac 2 for 2, Neame 0 for 2.
