WEDDING

SEAGAR — COLBECK f __________ A military wedding of Taupo in- . terest took place at St. Mary's ' Cathedral, Auckland, on Saturday, | February 20th when Miss Michael- ( ena ^Mary Colbeck, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Grey Colbeck, of Taupo, was married to Lieutenant Gordon Seagar, R.N.Z.A.C., only son of Mr and Mrs G. H. Seagar, of Titirangi. The Very Rev. Dean Monteith officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory old-world rose West Cumberland brocade cut on classical lines. The fitting bodice had a deep scalloped neckline and long sleeves, and the full skirt was fashioned with unpressed pleats to form ^ train. Her silk tulle veil f ell from a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of tuberoses, gardenias and begonias. The bridesmaids, Miss Suzanne Colbeck, sister of the bride and Miss Virginia Bull, and the flower girl, Diana Worth, wore gowns of lemon confetti nylon with pin-tucked bodices and circular skirts. Their bouquets and headdresses were of frangipani and begonias with touches of blue delphiniums. Lieutenant R. Vail, R.N.Z.A., was best man, and Sec- j ond-Lieutenant H. Vernon, Newl Zealand Scottish, was groomsman. Fellow officers of the bridegroom crossed swords in an archway as the happy couple left the Cathedral. The reception was held at the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs A. M. Ferguson, Victoria Avenue, Remuera.
