SOUTH TAUPO NOTES

Dr. and Mrs R. W. Harman, of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, have been staying at Bridge Lodge, Turangi. They were succesful in t-aking about a dozen good fish in the Western Bays. River fishing at the southern end of the Lake has been hard. Recent visitors to Motuopa Lodge have been Messrs J. Jans, F. D. McGregor, D. M. Harvey and L. Looney of Oakura, New Plymouth, Messrs. R. Kirkland, C. Teague and W. Turner of Kairanga, Palmerston North and Mr H; Ashby and Dr. Keenan of Auckland. The Hon. K. J. and Mrs Holyoake and family recently spent more than a week at Waitetoko. They stayed at the residence of Mr W. B. Tennant, M.P. Several good brown trout, averaging 10 to 12 lbs have been taken in the Waimarino Stream in the last two or three weeks.
