SPEED BOAT THRILLS

BIG ENTRIES FOR BOXING DAY Prospects for the annual Boxing Day Speed-boat Regatta organised by the Taupo Motor Boat Club are good. At the time of going to press Mr E. P. Taylor, secretary, reported that over *forty entries had already been notified and that record fields seemed assured. Among speed boats known to be coming were entries from the following motor boat clubs : — Heretaunga, Hastings, Rotorua, Tauranga, Waverley, Auckland Provincial, Manawatu Boating, Patea, Wanganui and Wellington. Among the Taupo boats will be J. E. Booth's Nautical, a new craft under the old riame, which has not yet been raced, D. R. McLeod's Echo, G. Taylor's Taylormaid and E. Holmes' Jitterbug. Jitterbug has not yet been raced, and is powered with a Dodge motor. It is also hoped that D. A. McLeod's Susan Leigh may be out for a demoiistration run.
