SCHOOL CRICKET
On Saturday November 28th the Taupo School XI played its first game without assistance from the Staff in a match against eight members of the Taupo Cricket Club. The boys found it easier in this match to find holes in the field, but still displayed a tendency to pull the ball up in the air, and were rather prone to pull away to leg. The Club obtained a lead of 33 runs on the first innings, after some good bowling from Isabeth, Blake and Reo Rameka. Left to obtain 27 to win, F. McKean and G. Ward knocked off the runs without losing their wickets. Taupo School, 1st innings, 63. — K. Rameka 16, W. Pitroi 10, B. Wall 12, B. Isabeth 8 not out. D.
