CRICKET NOTES

GOLF CLUB VICTORY The Cricket Club suffered its first defeat of the season when the Golf Club won in an exciting finish by | the narrow margin of one wicket. It was the third of the series of matches between the two Clubs and the first Golf Club victory. The chief architect of the Golf Club's success was Bruce Kildey, an exTasmanian representative whose ability at the summer game was unknown to his colleagues. At the iast moment he came in from the reserves to play innings of 28 and 38 which included some of the big- I gest pulled drives seen on the Domain. His two innings contained no less than 6 sixes and 3 fours, and he followed up these efforts by taking 10 cricketers wickets for 43 runs. For the Cricket Club Eyes played an excellent innings of 40 in the first knock and Forster bowled splendidly to obtain 11 wickets for 32 runs. In the final moments of the ipatch when runs and wickets were badly needed by the respective sides, David Woodward played a lucky and venturesome innings of 21 which materially helped to win the match for the golfers.
