SOCIAL AND PERSONAE
The Rt. Rev. W. J. Simkin, Bishop of Auckland, and Mrs Simkin, recently called ofhcially on the 4^Iayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs J. E. Story. Another recent visitor was the Rt, Rev W. Panapa, Bishop of Aotearoa. Friends of Miss K. Ingram recently gathered at the home of Mrs G. P. Reidj the occasion being a kitehen afternoon tea in her honour. Miss Ingram's marriage to Mr Bryart Garlick is to take place at St. Faith's Ghurch, Ohinemutu, tomorrow, Saturday December 5. The 1st Taupo Girls Life Brigade held an end-of-year concert in Rickit's Hall on November 26. A short dialogue, poems and a "singsong" of Alexander hymns filled the programme. Supper wa& served. The Company had its seventh birthday in October. Mr J. E. Story has been advised by the Secretary for Justice of his appointment as a Justice of the Peace, by virtue of his election to the office of Mayor of the Borough of Taupo, in accordanee with the provisions of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.
