POWER SCHEME GROWTH

INSPECTOR S REPORT The total number of consumers connected to the municipal power mains was reported by Mr J. M. Sherwood, the Council's Electrical Inspector, at the recent meeting of the Council, to be 470, an increase of 43 since the previous meeting. The high tension line from Karamu Street to the A.C. Baths and the Spa Hotel was in course of construction and work was proceeding on the low tension lines in Gillies Avenue, Rimu Street, Tamatea Avenue, and parts of Tamamutu Street and Rokino Road. Service lines had been run to Ngamotu, Rokino, Taharepa and Huka Streets. Lightning tripped the circuit breaker at the Power House twice cn Cctober 26, Labour Day, namely at 3.30 p.m. and again at 5.30 p.in.
