NYLON PRODUCTION PLANS
EXPANSION OF BRITISH FACTORY STEPPING UP OUTPUT British Nylon Spinners ^Limited has made an offer, which has been accepted, for the purchase of thej site and factory at Doncaster owned by British Bemberg Limited, now in voluntary liquidation. This was announced by Mr C. F. Bagnall, managing director of British Nylon Spinners. After substantial modifications and the installation of the necessary types of plant machinery, the factory will be used for further production of nylon yams and staple fabric. This will be in addition to the expansion now in progress at the British Nylon Spinners Pontypool factory where extensions now under construction will increase the annual production rate of nylon yarn and staple fabric from the present 10,0Q0,0001bs to 30,Q00,0001bs. The Pontypool extensions should come into operation by the middle of 1954. The treble production rate should be reached in 1955. Britain is already the second largest producer of nylon in the world.
