FIRE PREVENTION

In a letter addressed to the editor of the Taupo "Times" the Director of Forestry, Mr A. R. Entrican, states that he is interested to see in the "Times" of October 9th the publicity given to fire prevention, and says that reminders of the havoc wrought by the 1946 fires will have a salutary effect on readers. Taupo town was an important sentinel, standing on the outskirts of great concentrations of exotic forests, and that its paper and people should be alive to the dangers in the area gave him confidence that in Taupo: fire precautions would be faithfully observed.
