In a match on Labour Day between Taupo Cricket Club and Taupo School, whose team included four Staff members, rain stopped play when School had been dismissed for 81 and Taupo had lost one wicket for 12. The School innings commenced with an excellenjb partnership of 40 between Mr P. R, Hoggard and Mr K. S. Graham, followed by a steady 13 by Mr T. Curham. The boys were subdued and could do nothing with Forster's bowling Forster took five for eight, while Stebbing's three wickets cost ten runs apiece. In Taupo's innings Mr Curham took Geoghan's wicket first ball. Woodward and Eyes scored 12. In a second game on Saturday, October 31st, Club batted first for 175, School replying with 113. Woodward 14, Sam McKean 35, Acres 12 and Briggs 17 took the Club total to 171. School's bowling was notable for the steadiness of Rameka, who took four wickets for 34 in seven overs, while Denis Clark, though hit for 63 in 8 overs, thoroughly deserved his two wickets.
