WOMEN'S INSTITUTE MEETING

There was an attendance of some twenty members at the monthly meeting of the Taupo Women's Institute held on October 21st. A report on the recent meeting of the Rotorua Federation was. read by Mrs E. Glass. A letter received from the Corso organisation, Wellington, advised that four cases of goods collected by the Taupo Institute for victims of the Greek earthquakes •had been despatched by the "Rangitane" on October 3rd. Mrs Arnoltl, president, gave a demonstration of tatting. Competitions for the month were won as follows:— Mrs Arnold, Ladies Cardigan; Mrs Arnold, Soft toy; Mrs Arnold, Best spray; Mrs Arnold, Best vegetable; Mrs Glass and Miss M. Stowe, first equal, Best blo-om. A crochet toilet set donated by Mrs Davis last frionth was won by Miss M. Rickit, Ticket No. 113.
