BOWLING BEGINS

TAUPO OPENING DAY The Taupo Bowling Club opened its new season on Sunday, October 25th, in perfect weather. The President, Mr B. M. Armstrong, welcomed a large number of visitors, including Mr G. B. Quintrell, president of the Waikato-Thames Valley Centre, and Mr W. P. Aldridge, Vice-president of the'Dominion Council, both of whom complimented the club on its green and *amerrities and stated that these would be of great value to holiday visitors. Mr Quintrell paid a tribute to the ladies for the afternoon tea provided for the large gathering. The first kitty was put up by Mrs B. M. Armstrong, and Mr J. H. Marlow played the first bowl. Teams were present from clubs at Rotorua (2), Tokoroa, Putaruru, Taumarunui and the WaikatoThames Vailey Centre.
