NO BOATS ON DELATOUR'S POOL

At the July Conference at Turangi between fishing and shooting organisations and Departmentalv officers, a remit was presented suggesting that fishing from boats be permitted on the Tongariro River up to «DeLatour's Pool. Mr A. G. Harper, Secretary for Internal Affairs, has now advised the bodies represented that it is considered that fishing from boats would cause undue interference to anglers fishing from the shore or wading. It was apparent at the Conference that the majority were against the remit. The Department has decided not to adopt the suggestion.
