BUILDING PERMIT CASES
Three cases dealing with alleged Taupo Town Board by-laws in regard to building permits were before the Magistrate's Court on Friday last. Edward Blake was charged with erecting a new building, to wit, a shed, without obtaining permission in writing from the Town Board. J. D. McLeod was charged that on April 29th he did erect a new building, to wit, a garage, without obtaining permission in writing obtaining permission in writing from the board. Mr Morrissey, for the Town Board, stated that he would not produce evidence* in either case, and Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M., accordingly dismissed both charges for want of prosecution. A charge agafnst J. D. McLeod that on April 29th, 1953, at Taupo, having commenced a new building (a garage) he did ' construct new additions or alterations to the said garage without authority of the Town Board, was adjourned by the magistrate, on the application of Mr Morrissey, to November 27th, owing to the absence from Taupo of the Board's Building Inspector, due to family llness.
