This picture is from a print kindly supplied by Mrs H. J. Fletcher, and given to Mrs Fletcher in 1895. This first Taupo School was situated in a building close to the site of the present Internal Affairs Dept., building on the Landing Reserve, Taupo. The only two pupils in the group still living in Taupo are Mr Harry Rickit, sen., and Mr A. A. Noble. The names are as follows:—Back Row (left to right), Alice Brady, Gavin Park, Edward Gallagher, Harry Roberts, Harry Rickit, George Crowther, Joe Gallagher, Bert Noble. Third Row, Miss Keaney (teacher), Oswald Park, Jessie Noble, Ida Park, Jack Park, Lily Noble, Jenny McCauley, Mr Norman (Telegraph linesman).
