GOLF CLUB NOTES

A mixed fourball bogey played on Sunday, August 23rd, was won by Miss Branson and E. Pearse 4 up. Next best scores were Mrs : Young and Col. Robinson 2 up and Mrs Carlyon and E. Smith 1 up. The men's fourball bogey was won on the count back by C. Carlyon and K. Young 3 up, from Kellett and C. Vedder, and Irving and D. Woodward. In the first round of the Men's i Championship L. Stephenson defeated E. Smith on the 18th green i after being down most of the way round. . In the semi-finals of the Captain's Trophy J. Miles defeated N. George at the 19th, and . Col. Robinson defeated E. Pearse 1 up. On Thursday, August 27th the ladies played the qualifying round for the Championship, fast greens causing high scores which were as follows: — Miss Branson 92, Mrs Hullten 98, Mrs Douglas 99, Mrs Colbeck 100, Mrs Logan 100, Mrs K. Young 101, Mrs Vedder 101, Miss McKelvie 105. On September 13th the men will play the 5th round of the President's Trophy. Further senior championship first round results are as follows: — K. E. Young defeated A. Graham, 1 up; K. Rameka defeated J. Miles, 7 and 6; L. Cheal defeated V. Wilson 5 and 3. In the first round of the junior championship E. Pearse defeated O. Wright, 7 and 5; N. Kerr defeated J. Woodward, 5 and 4; E. Ryan defeated T. Price, 4 and 3; H. Hullten defeated E. Collett, 2 and 1.
