BASKETBALL NEWS
The matches last Saturday resulted as follows : — Huka 23 Crusaders 7; High School 13 Mokai 12. Huka were again victorious when they met Crusaders. Crusaders put up a good fight, but combined play in defence and forwards by Huka proved to be too much. Individual play, rather than team work, seems to be the chief fault with the Crusaders' team. A player who deserves special mention, and has shown the greatest improvement is Sally Habib for Huka. By far the most interesting and evenly matched tearns seen irn play this season were Mokai and High School wko played in the second game. Each third. of the;; Mokia team gave a gopd demonstration of team work and combinatiojji,. P. Paerata in the forwards, S, Tehiko in the centre aiid L. Andrews in the defence were formidable barriers against the younger School players. School played an open game with H. Andrews and M. Hurst in the defence intercepting extremely well. The fixtures for next Saturday wiil be: 1.30 p.m., High School v. Huka: 2.30 p.m., Tokaanu v. Crusaders.
