TAUPO LABOUR PARTY

VISIT OF NATION AL OFFICER The Taupo Branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held its monthly meeting on July 13, in Rickit's Hall, reports Mr J. L. Burge, Branch Secretary. On completion of the branch business an interesting but controversial talk was given by Mr Foddy, of the Hastings Branch. A special meeting of the branch was held on July 19, the speaker being Mr R. Boord, National ViceSecretary,.^ who had travelled from Wellington the previous day. Priqr to the meeting Mr Boord was introduced to each member by Mr J. Stanley, branch president. His address was well received and upon conclusion he was heartily applanded. Several new members were nominated and enrolled at these meetings, and finaitcial membership of the branch is now in excess of sixty. The executive wishes to thank those members and supporters who have assisted, financially and otherwise, in re-forming the branch.
