NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTS
TWO MORE SHOPS OPENED Two ibusinesses were opened in Roberts Street last week, both occupying premises in Mr N. J. Pothan's recently completed concrete building facing the Lake Front and adjacent to the foot of Tongariro Street. M.essrs _ Snapshots will specialise in the supply of all photographic needs, includJng cameras, albums, films and accessories. A varied asscrtment oi jsuch goods make an attractive display, | while d.evelopingv and ptrinting equipiment and a ehildren's photographic studio will shortly be installed. Mr C. S. Currie has commenced business in specialised drapery lines, and is displaying a wide sel.ection of fabrics, knitting wools, toddler's w,ear, & haberdashery. With the advent of these two shops Roberts Street, with eight different types of business premises, becomes second only to Tongariro Sttreet as a shopping area. New Joinery Workshop. Messrs Reid and Clark, builders j have received delivery of a. "Triumph" 24 by 6 four-sider, an up-to-date American machine, which will be installed in a joinery workshop fifty feet by forty, which is shortly to be erect.ed on their section in Horomatangi Street, opposite the School and elose to Ruapehu Street. The new machine will be used for all types of house mouldings, weatherboarding and flooring. Robands Super Service Station Ltd., have recently installed a new macbine, for th.e testing and cleaning of sparkplugs, providing an up-to-date method of checking tbeir efficiency. Plumbing Workshop Opened. The Bruce Bennett Plumbing Co. Ltd. opened their n.ew premises in Horomatangi Street on Monday last, These are situated opposite the Firc : Brigade Station and compirise an office and workshop, with a showroom foi display of builders5 and plumfoers5 sup1 plies. The plant, which includes up- ' to-date folding and rolling machmer^ ; for handling sheet iron, and a moderr ' hydraulic bending machine, will enabk - all types of plumbing orders to be undertaken.
