GOLF CLUB NOTES
ANNUAL DINNER HELD The C'aptain of the Taupo Golf Club, Mr K. E. Young, and the Secretary Miss J. Branson, picked teams to play theia? Annual Teams, Match on Sunday, June 28th., and some very even matches were played, the Captain^s tearn winning by the narrow margin of 5 matches to 4. The Ladies also played a teams match, when the Captain, Miss Branson and ihe Secretary4, Mrs Hullten, chos,e their teams. The Secretary 's team won with a good margin of 4 to 1. On Thuffsday, July 9th., tfie Ladies will play a flag* match, and on Sunday 12th. the men will play another round for the President's Trophy. The Annual Dinn.er was held at the Spa Hotel on Wednesday, July lst;? when fifty-one members attended. An excellent dinner was served, and the tables were attiractively decorated with bowls of winter-flow.ering heaths, anemones and berries, and a miniature golf course of moss and plasticine, made by lan and Peter Birnie. The lounge was clearpd forr dancing and a very pleasant evening was spent. j
