LABOUR PARTY MEETING
Address By Mr P. Kearins, M.P. Mr P. Kearins, M.P. for Waimarino, was the speaker at a special meeting of the Taupo Bi^anch of the N.Z. Laj bour Party, held in Rickit's Tearooms on the evening of Wednesday, July lst. Attendance although good, was reduced owing to sickness and cold weather. Mr Kearins had an attentive audience and covered much ground, being afterwar'ds plied with questions on many topics. He was accorded a heaity vote of thanks. Refreshments were provided by lady members, and a musical back- | ground was provided by the High School dance in the adjoining hall. The locai executive is endeavouring to make monthly meetings more interesting by securing various speakers as often as possible. Membership continues to grow and a warrn welcome awaits former members and others desiring to strengthen the Branch.
