GOLF AT TAUPO

On Sunday, May 17th, the second round for the President's Trophy was piayed and the best scores returned were R. Sinclair, 88,24-64; E. Smith, 82, 91-73; E. Pearse, 88, 15-73; V. Wilson, 84, 10-74; and A, Collett, 87, 1374. Some Winter Cup matches were piayed by the ladies, results being as follows: Mrs Douglas defeated Mrs Cheal, Mrs Ryan and Miss Branson; .Mrs Cheal defeated Miss Branson; Miss Branson defeated Mis Ryan; and Mrs Hullten defeated Mrs Collett. The ladies piayed a qualifying round for the Captain's Trophy on Thiirsday, May 21st., the gross scores being* Mrs Hullten, 90; Miss MeKelvie, 97; Mrs Collett, 101; Mrs Douglas, 102; Mrs Logan, 103; Mrs Collett, 105; Mrs Young, 106; Mrs Cheal, 108; Mrs George 111; Mrs Barton* 119. Patron's Trophy Results The first round of the Patron's Trophy was piayed on Sunday, May 24, i results being as follows: Mr and Mrs I Ryan defeated Mr and Mrs Cheal; M? and Mrs Collett defeated Mr and Mrs A. Smith; Mr and Mrs George defeated Mr and Mrs K. E. Youngv; Mr and Mrs Hullten defeated Mr Vedder and Miss Smith; Mr Wilson and Mrs Veddeer defeated Mr and Afrs Wright; Mr E. Smith and Miss ^Branson all square with Mr Logan and Miss McKelvie, but the fii'st named partners won the match. when it was replayed; Mirs Colbeek and Mr Btephenson defeated Mr and Mrs George at the 21st hole, when playing the second round. The Men's Match for June 7th is a Stableford Bogey.
